Kind of Blue (Legacy Edition) - (Label - Columbia Record)
Miles Davis - Performer

Miles Davis (1926 – 1991) is one of the most influential jazz musicians of the 20th Century.
Davis, like many of his peers, holds multiple roles as a trumpeter, a bandleader as well as a composer.

“Kind of Blue” is a studio album that featured Davis’ and his sextet ensemble and it is widely considered as one of Davis’s best-selling album. There are several editions of the same title but this latest legacy edition is the one I prefer to the others. The main reason is the superb sound quality brought by the remastering. Another interesting feature of this edition is the expansion of materials, such as the studio versions of the same songs as the original CD are added for added effects and insights.

“Kind of Blue” has been cited to be an achievement that is unique of its genre, and it is one of Davis’ greatest album. It was released in 1959 and had since ranked among the top and greatest album.

This recording has an overwhelming effect of space and intimacy, being complimentary yet contrary. If you’re new to jazz music, this treasurable CD may appeal to you and open your world to a genre of brilliant music.
