Guarneri Quartet:
Artur Rubinstein - Piano
Arnold Steinhardt - Violin
John Dalley  - Violin
Michael Tree - ViolaDavid Soyer – Cello

This exciting CD is not a new recording. It is a re-production of Rubinstein and Guarneri’s interpretations of Brahms’ two most popular Piano Quartets, with superior standard.

The Guarneri Quartet is an American
string quartet founded in 1964, and had since made numerous recordings.

Artur Rubinstein, a superb pianist and an excellent interpreter of Brahms, whom in his seventies, plays the piano in his very own dominant and virtuoso fashion.

Brahms composed the Piano Quartet in G minor, Op. 25 between 1856 and 1861, and it is scored for piano, violin, viola and cello. Clara Schumann was the pianist for the first performance in 1861.

The Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 60, a four-movement quartet which much reveals the bold, warm and melancholic side of Brahms. It is scored for piano, violin, viola and cello.

The musicians had delivered Brahms’ emotional language in a powerful yet tender manner. The harmonic intensity, coupled with complexity, had been convincingly conveyed under the hands of these accomplished musicians.

Whether you’re a Brahms’ fans, Rubinstein’s fans or romantic chamber music fans, this CD is definitely for you.
